So much to complain about, so little time. Where do I start? Okay, so last Saturday was my photo shoots for the CD cover and liner notes. I was suppose to meet Dean, the photographer, at 5:30 but the wife getting sick the night before challenged my meeting that time frame. Keep in mind that when my wife gets sick, the world, nay, the universe must stop it’s rotation to a complete stand still during this time. She ended up going over to her mother’s house. I went over Saturday afternoon while her mother was at work to help out with the kids. I really needed to be out of there by 4ish so I could throw the clothes in the dryer that I’d put in the washer before I left. I got detained at the mother in law’s house until about 4:30 at which point I flew out of there and back home. I jumped in the shower real quick and then tried to do something cool with my hair. As the years go by I find that I have less and less to work with so this makes things more complicated. But I finally got it where it wasn’t too nerdy looking. (Hey, I can only do so much with it) I knew we’d be out side so I wanted to see if I could make it stay like it was. So naturally I grab some of the wife’s hairspray and give it a good dousing. The result was dreadful. I looked like someone had painted the shape of a hairline on my head or painted one of those skinhead wigs. I had to stick my head back under the sink and try again. I got it okay at best and left well enough alone.

So I put on one of the shirts I’d wear and grabbed the other two (had to iron them first) as well as a different pair of shoes, which I never wore. I also grabbed the guitar I would use for the shoot, a brush, and my wife’s grandmother’s antique mirror, which I broke and put me in the doghouse yet again.

I met Dean in downtown Lansing. We were looking for a nice, old, classic rock looking alley. Kinda like The Who did on the back cover of Eaty, Meaty, Big and Bouncy. I’m not a huge Who fan but I thought it was a cool look. He scoped things out ahead of time so all I had to do was meat him at the pre-arranged location. So we started getting some shots in. You can see them here in the photo gallery. He had a lot of good ideas and we took quite a few shots.

I’ve been looking them over these past couple of days but nothing is jumping out at me saying “CD COVER!” We may have to schedule another shoot to try again. The pictures turned out well and Dean did a great job. I’m just thinking we may have to go out and try it again to get the right shot for the CD cover.
