Rhythm tracks! Rhythm Tracks! Rhythm tracks! I can’t wait to get past this point! All I can do is wait and keep trudging along. The drums and bass tracking is like putting down the foundation of a house. Without it, no matter how pretty the paint job is, it just won’t be the same.
We finished up the drum tracks for the 7th song last week. As tedious as it seems right now, progress really is going well. We were supposed to be in the studio this past Sunday evening but I got bumped. Grrrrrr!!!!!! I was going to have Jim in to do some bass tracks but I guess it’ll have to wait until this Sunday.
It’s also a bit frustrating now that we’re limited to recording only one day a week. But, it’s the only time all the schedules agree. The biggest is that of Jeff’s, who is engineering the project. It’s pretty hard to record without an engineer. But apart from that, it’s that whole work and family thing that always seems to get in the way of everything. But we’ll be back in this Sunday and get things going again.
Once the drum and bass tracks are done it’s my turn. I can then start the process of layering down guitar track after guitar track after guitar track after-… well you get the point
